Buddhist Mani Stones. And these are freshly painted. Most have an
ancient look, and some are so old the inscriptions in the rock are
barely visible. There is Buddhist stuff all over in parts of the
Annapurnas, and the rest of the Himalayas as well. A lot of
Westerners are drawn to it. Interestingly, I have never, ever
had any one ever even hint at religious conversion. In fact, it would
never cross their minds to even think of doing something
like that with guests, or anyone else.
